For full-time staff employee
The IU Indianapolis Bepko Spirit Award recognizes full-time staff members who through extraordinary service and special (professional, team, or volunteer) contributions exemplify the spirit of IU Indianapolis, strengthening IU Indianapolis by fostering collegiality, cooperation, creativity and innovation toward the end of helping IU Indianapolis become one of the nations' best urban universities for employment and education.
The IU Indianapolis Bepko Spirit Award is open to IU Indianapolis full-time staff members with at least two years of service who contribute to the overall mission and success of the university. All nominees for the IU Indianapolis Bepko Spirit Award will receive a letter of notification by email that they have been nominated for the award. The award recipient(s) will receive a letter of congratulations and the appropriate supervisor(s) will be notified. The award is presented at the annual IU Indianapolis Chancellor's Staff Recognition Ceremony.
The IU Indianapolis Bepko Spirit Award is sponsored by the IU Indianapolis Staff Council and administered by the Rewards and Recognition Committee in collaboration with councils Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
In order to apply for this award, the application form must be completed along with an essay (no more than 500 words) with clear examples on how the nominated individual has exhibited the following qualifications:
- Attitude: Personal and professional interaction with co-workers, faculty, students, and visitors, and the daily routines of the individual's position.
- Loyalty: Commitment to increase the overall department or unit performance.
- Teamwork: Working well with others to reach a common goal, complete a project, etc.
- Contribution: Personal and professional acts that aid the university in fulfilling its mission, goals, and initiatives.
